About

Early 20s, navigating life in the mid-2020s as a working-class politics student, eldest (thought) daughter, and walking hot take generator. Too many thoughts and not enough time. I mostly write about politics, culture, and the messy intersection between the two. I write in the space between journalism and ranting, blending research with personal perspective. Red hair, red politics, and absolutely no interest in being neutral. Creative first, opinionated always.

Studying politics has firmly pushed me away from the idea of becoming a politician, not that I think that was ever a realistic or noble goal in the first place. What it has taught me, however, is that I love researching, presenting information, and writing. My experiences have shaped my politics, growing up working-class in an old Midlands town, raised by a single mother, without a car, and navigating a not-so-easy childhood and teen years radicalised me more than any textbook ever could. I came out of it hardworking, determined, independent, and deeply empathetic. I’m figuring things out as I go; making mistakes, learning, growing, and navigating the strange contradictions of modern life. Mental health struggles, uncertainty, and existential dread aside, I always keep pushing forward with curiosity and determination.

I’m quite eclectic, with my interests spanning beyond politics. I love art, though I see it more as a personal outlet than a pursuit. Music is a huge part of my life, especially The 1975, and I’ve always been drawn to disruptors and subverters of norms, which is probably why I am the way I am. I also have a bit of an internal conflict as a massive Formula One fan, despite its contradictions with many of my values. I have a deep interest in witchcraft, folklore, and esotericism, drawn to the darker, more mysterious aspects of history and spirituality. I find meaning in death, ritual, and the symbolic power of the witch as both an outsider and a force of disruption.

One thing I do know is that writing is not just what sets me apart, it’s what drives me, challenges me, and keeps me going. I have a proven ability to distil complex ideas into compelling, accessible narratives. University lecturers and peers have consistently praised my analytical depth, originality, and ability to engage audiences, whether in academic settings or through my independent writing. My academic writing has earned firsts in blog-style university assignments, pushing me to keep honing my craft. This blog is not just a creative outlet but a testament to my ability to research, write, and communicate with depth, precision, and creativity. It’s a space where I can dissect the world and sharpen my craft, constantly refining my voice and analytical skills. Whether tackling intricate political issues, cultural phenomena, or historical patterns, I bring a distinct voice that is both rigorous and engaging. My work is rooted in intellectual curiosity and an unwavering commitment to truth-telling. But if nothing else, I know I can offer a perspective that’s shaped by real experiences, curiosity, and a refusal to sit quietly.
