Australia's Burning

Notre Dame was on fire for fifteen hours and it was on every news page & station and was all over social media. Australia's been on fire, since September 2019. It's taken just about three months for the media to pick up on it and for social media to really kick-off.

Fires are in every state of Australia, the worst being in Victoria and New South Wales. These fires are so bad that air quality is unsafe. Breathing in the air that is loaded with carbon monoxide and nitrous oxide can worsen asthma and other respiratory problems. Ash has reached New Zealand. These wildfires are producing so much heat that they are making their own weather systems including dry lightning storms and fire tornadoes.

Apocalyptic photos are beginning to plague social media. Many have taken to Twitter and Instagram to compare the fires to the ones that happened in California and the Amazon fire to alert the rest of the world to the tragedy and to plead for help.

Firefighters and volunteer firefighters are working so hard to combat the fires and to save as much as possible, towns are being engulfed and lives being claimed. (updated): An estimated billion animals have died in the fires and many are fighting for their lives in animal hospitals. As well as 26 people.

Climate change is real, sea levels rise 3.2 per year and earth polar ice sheets are losing mass, rising temperatures are increasing wildfires around the globe, and yet we have climate change deniers in positions of power, refusing to even acknowledge a problem. To donate to help, here are links:
